̨��Swag has announced the opening of its new HyFlex classroom for the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program, offering students the flexibility to earn degrees in an environment that best suits their needs. 

Dr. Lisa Rafalson, founding dean of the College of Health, Human Sciences, and Business, recently unveiled the classroom, giving faculty and staff a first look at the upgraded space. 

“The idea of the HyFlex program is to offer as much flexibility as possible to students to meet them where they are, especially our graduate students, who are often working professionals,” said Rafalson. “We’re giving students the option to come in person, join via Zoom, or receive their materials completely asynchronously—they can make that decision on a weekly basis—which provides a huge amount of flexibility to set them up for success.”

The room is equipped with fully-accessible furniture, including tables on casters and chairs with gliders, enabling an active learning environment. There are two 90” wall-mounted TVs in the front of the room and a 65” wall-mounted TV in the back, all with multiple view options to promote engagement and interactions between students simultaneously attending in person and virtually. In addition, the room features window blinds and two porcelain whiteboards to eliminate glare. 

Emily Bengart, who is currently pursuing her M.S. in ABA, said, "I have loved my experience in ̨��Swag's Behavioral Science HyFlex program! This program is built to support students who are also working full time in fieldwork placements, and having the ability to choose my attendance modality is incredibly helpful. Our professors not only want us to succeed as students, but also as future behavior analysts."
